Prep Basics: The UK Government’s Advice
The government’s Be Ready campaign asks every household to be able to manage for three days if a major emergency interrupts normal life, such as a long power cut, severe weather or a cyber attack affecting essential services. The tone is “alert, not alarmed”.
Water: 3 litres per person per day, so 36 litres for a family of four.
Food: non-perishable food that needs no fridge or cooking. Choose what you normally eat.
Power and news: a torch with spare batteries, a battery or wind-up FM radio, and a charged power bank. Write down your local radio frequencies.
Health: a first aid kit, and a written list of medication names and doses. Ask for repeat prescriptions up to five working days before you need them.
Money: some cash in coins and notes.
Babies and pets: ready-to-feed formula is best, because you may not be able to boil water safely. Keep pet food and water too.
Neighbours: talk to them now about what you could share.

Privacy
What stays on your device. This app has no accounts. Your household size, ticks, light or dark choice and share link are saved in your browser on this device so the app can work. We do not receive them. Use Delete data in Settings, or clear your browser data, to remove them.
Analytics (optional). If you choose Accept, we use a simple analytics service to see how the app is used, such as which pages are viewed and which buttons are tapped, along with basic technical details like your device type and browser. We use this only to improve the app. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it. The analytics service acts on our behalf and may set cookies or similar identifiers. If you choose No thanks, no analytics run.
Your choices and rights. You can change or withdraw your analytics choice at any time in Settings, and the app works the same either way. Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. This app is run by Ready Score UK. Contact: privacy@yourdomain.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Buy buttons open Amazon UK, guide buttons open Gumroad, and the email sign-up opens Substack. Those are separate sites with their own privacy policies and cookies. When you click an Amazon link, Amazon may set cookies that let us earn a commission. Share buttons open other apps, which have their own policies. The service that hosts this page may keep standard technical logs outside our control.
How It Works
Tell us who is in your home. We build a 3-day kit list, you tick what you already have, and your Ready Score updates. Your ticks stay on this device only.
Where the Advice Comes From
The UK government’s Be Ready campaign advises keeping enough supplies for three days, including 3 litres of water per person per day, food you would normally eat, a torch, a radio, a power bank and some cash. Other quantities here are our suggestions, so adjust them to your home. Read the official advice on gov.uk.
What the Buy Buttons Do
They open an Amazon UK search for that item. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. You never have to buy anything to use this app.
How Do I Share on Instagram or TikTok?
Open the Share tab, tap Save image, then post the picture from the Instagram or TikTok app and add your link in your bio or story.
Is This an Emergency Service?
No. In an emergency call 999. This app is a planning checklist, not official guidance.
